JMP grew up in southern California. After studying music early on with private teachers followed by Orange Coast College Music department, he completed a BA in music composition at UCLA. While on that path, exposure to Big Band jazz to musical theater seeded an initiative for composing various styles of music in addition to learning a variety of instruments. 

Upon completing his degree and club venue performances from LA to Orange County, a move opportunity to Brooklyn arose. The surrounding music scene there and Greenwich Village presented an enriching cultural and performance environment to play live, songwriting and compose music.

This passion for music has inspired many journeys abroad over the years, west to east coast stops, Trolley Square, Salt Lake City to St. Louis, when or wherever the opportunity to play and entertain was at hand.
